  Insititute of Development Studies Jaipur

  Mar 22 to 22 Mar,2022

The Institute of Development Studies, Jaipur in collaboration with the Directorate of Women’s Empowerment, Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Rajasthan, and technical support from Development Solutions, New Delhi, and Menstrual Health Alliance India is organising a Consultation on ‘Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management: Mapping Barriers and Opportunities for Strategic Communication’, on 22 March 2022 from 9.30 am to 5.00 pm at IDSJ.

Given the increase in the number of adolescent girls and women using menstrual products (mainly sanitary pads) one of the gender-specific needs is making available information and knowledge on safe menstrual hygiene practices and ensuring availability of quality menstrual products and services (including menstrual cups, reusable pads), water and toilet facilities as well as appropriate disposal mechanisms. In this context, effective and inclusive communication strategies and messaging are critical.

The Consultation will provide an opportunity to share experiences, understand the barriers and opportunities for strategic communication on safe menstrual health and hygiene practices, informed product choices and services as well as standards for menstrual waste disposal systems to ensure menstrual equity.
